Join us in person on the evening of Thursday, April 25 at 5:30pm PT in San Francisco for a chat about branding and design, including Noise 13’s work for Adventr and the making of the sixth edition of Designing Brand Identity. This book is the quintessential resource, whether you’re managing a rebrand or educating your staff or students. In this latest edition, you can expect content on AI, iconography, social justice, evidence-based marketing, and more.

Doors will open at 5:30pm for mingling, drinks, and snacks. At 6pm, we'll begin a panel discussion moderated by content strategy leader, Rob Goodman, featuring:

  • Dava Guthmiller (founder, Noise 13)
  • Robin Goffman (creative director, Designing Brand Identity)
  • Rob Meyerson (co-author, Designing Brand Identity)
  • The event will be held at Noise 13, 1616 16th St Unit 370, so mark your calendars and get ready for an evening of creativity and inspiration. There will also be copies of the book available for purchase, although you can also order them directly from here.

    See you there!

This event is also honoring the late Alina Wheeler (1948–2023) as co-author of the book and for her active involvement with AIGA — and specifically AIGA Philadelphia — over the years. Throughout her illustrious life, Alina exhibited unwavering commitment to design leadership, holding various roles within AIGA. When she published the first edition of Designing Brand Identity in 2003, it was because in her words, “I really wrote it because it didn’t exist” and “I wanted it on my shelf.” Today, the book is frequently pulled down from countless shelves around the world. While Alina’s books have illuminated branding for countless students and professionals, those who knew her will also remember her warmth, wisdom, and wit.

Women in Leadership & Design (WILD) is an initiative of AIGA San Francisco. Our mission is to amplify women and non-binary designers’ collective power and visibility. We mobilize and energize impact in design leadership by focusing our work on connecting, elevating, sharing, and educating designers in our community. Often, we do this through events like group meals, speaker series, workshops, meetups, and more. We exist to redesign leadership, together. Learn more about WILD here.
