Getting to AIGA SF
Street parking is limited and the nearest parking garage is located at Sutter & Stockton. We encourage guests to use car sharing or take public transportation. We're located blocks away from the Montgomery BART station. We cannot accommodate bikes in our space, however, secure bike parking is located at the Embarcadero BART station, a 15-minute walk to our office.
Rick Byrne, Creative Lead, Oracle
Over the years Rick has lived and worked in San Francisco, London and Dublin for companies such as the BBC, CBS Interactive, Unity and currently on the brand team at Oracle. A key part of Rick's role at Oracle is to envision various existing and emerging technologies within the brand's visual language.
Outside of work Rick's passion is to create logos, usually for non-profits or unfunded start-ups. He chose logos in particular as they boil down the enormity of a product, concept or institution into its most quintessential form. As part of his process, Rick likes to look into the communication problem very deeply in order to create a very unique communication solution. Nidhi is Director of Product Design at Figure Eight, where she works with designers to help build unique AI driven experiences. She has previously worked at IBM iX and Publicis, leading UX teams and partnering with clients such as Marriott, Citi and Coca-Cola. Her personal work in textiles and art comes forth in her approach towards design that’s thoughtful and elegant. As adjunct faculty at Parsons School of Design, Nidhi taught visual design and creative coding to MFA students in the Design and Tech program.
Arvi Raquel-Santos, Product Design Lead at Glassdoor
Arvi is a San Francisco based designer and educator with over 15+ years of product and brand design experiences. Arvi is currently a Product Design Lead at Glassdoor helping millions of people find a job that they love.
Previously, Arvi was a Visual Design Lead at Fitbit leading the activity and exercise team designing experiences for both mobile and device. Prior to Fitbit, Arvi was a Product Designer at Facebook. He worked with the Ads team building tools, for both sophisticated and novice advertisers, to provide advertisers with insight to measure their advertising performance in order too achieve their sales and marketing goals.
Arvi’s work has been recognized by a number of design shows and publications including: Graphis, AR100, Communication Arts, PRINT, HOW, the BoNE show (Best of New England), Graphic Design USA, The Big Book of Logos, 1,000 Greetings, Best of Brochure Design, Fingerprint 2 and most recently Just Design. Arvi has been invited to judge for various design shows and has spoken at various venues on the subject of the power of Design for Social Good.
Sarah Simpson, Product Designer, Facebook
Sarah is a product designer at Facebook. She has designed for teens, data consent and privacy. Previously, she led design at startups ranging from hardware to productivity and fashion. Graduated from Virginia Tech, Sarah has a dual degree in Studio Art and Visual Communication Design, alongside a minor in Statistics. Former board member of her hometown AIGA chapter in Washington DC, Sarah enjoys connecting with designers of all backgrounds.
Leah is a digital designer, creative director, and illustrator with over ten years of experience at fast-paced design agencies and on in-house teams in New York and San Francisco.
She’s worked on articulating, building, and scaling brands in a range of industries—from retail to technology—that range from being 150-days-old to 150-years-old and everything in between. For the past few years, her focus has been around architecting and leading amazing creative teams.
