Show and Tell: Metamorphosis
Born on an Oklahoma farm during The Great Depression, Richard Danne has been awarded the prestigious 2014 AIGA Medal, the highest honor in design.
Danne (pronounced DAY–nee) was elected President of the American Institute of Graphic Arts when our national organization had fewer members than AIGA SF does today. He encouraged bringing “West Coasters” on the national board, and encouraged the growth of chapters. He was Founding President of AIGA NY, making sure that “national” did not only mean “New York”.
The recipient of many national and international awards, including three “US Presidential Awards for Design Excellence,” in 2006, after more than 35 years in New York City, Danne Design happily relocated their design practice, grand piano, and residence to Napa, California.
Celebrate the closing session of “Show and Tell” with all our Bay Area Medalists.
