Board Role Vacancy: Call for applicants!

We are searching for an enthusiastic event manager with a "can-do" attitude to assist our organization in hosting events that further our mission and offer resources to the community. The event manager will be tasked with researching and securing donated venues, planning and managing our events' calendar, negotiating quotes and agreements with vendors, assisting with event marketing, monitoring timeframes and budgets, networking, and delivering on event brief objectives. Your creativity, organizational skills, and vision will assist our organization in amplifying brand visibility and personality. The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, superb interpersonal skills, multi-tasking skills, and excellent time-management. The Event Manager should support member relations, support the organization's mission, and effectively deliver on event objectives. This is a volunteer position. Board positions are 2 years and require attendance at monthly board meetings the 2nd Monday of each month.

Event Manager Responsibilities:

Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts

Handling budgeting for nonprofit events (and having a knack for finding resources when there is a lack of budget!)

Liaising and negotiating with vendors

Handling logistics

Updating senior management and giving monthly board reports

Managing branding and communication

Developing event feedback surveys

Obtaining permits when needed

Handling post-event reports

Preferred Skills:

Connected to the community to approach speakers about participation

Knowledge of the Graphic Design industry

Capable of planning event topics around current industry trends and topics

Good communication skills

Experience managing events of all sizes
