This event is a workshop:

Most careers don’t stall because of lack of skill.
They stall because the story isn’t clear.

This hands-on workshop introduces Career as a Brand System™, a framework for turning your work into something visible, legible, and opportunity-generating.

Originally developed through work across mobility, hardware, and consumer technology—and recently taught at Fremont Tech Week—this session focuses on how to design your career with the same intentionality as a product or brand.

Participants will work through four core components:

  • Narrative — defining what you stand for and how your work connects
  • Language — articulating your value in a way others can understand and repeat
  • Asset — creating a tangible representation of your thinking
  • Visibility — distributing your work so it reaches the right people

This is not a lecture.
Each attendee will leave with a working draft of their own positioning and a clear next step for applying it. Workbook, pens, and workshop materials will be included for participants.

Schedule:

6:00–6:30 PM — Arrival + guided networking
6:30–8:30 PM — Workshop (interactive)
8:30–9:00 PM — Open conversation + wrap

What makes this session different:

Most events during the week focus on ideas.
This session focuses on application.

Participants will also take part in a simple reflective exercise—writing a note to their future self—to reinforce what they’re building beyond the room.

What past participants said “I can tell you put a lot of thought into this workbook. As a systems person, this is really good.” “This workbook is very thought-provoking. The before/after framing got me thinking.”

Who this is for:

Designers, builders, and operators who:

  • Are doing meaningful work but struggle to explain it
  • Want to be more intentional about how their work is seen and understood
  • Are navigating transitions, growth, or new directions
*Please note that this is a limited-capacity workshop with 20 spots.
