43.8 million adults experience mental illness in a given year (National Alliance on Mental Illness), and nearly half of American adults will develop a mental illness in their lifetime. Indhira Rojas, Founder and Creative Director of Anxy Magazine, is no exception. Her personal struggle with trauma and workaholism inspired her to create Anxy, a bi-annual magazine dedicated to smashing the stigmas around mental health with thoughtful storytelling and design.

Join us May 3rd, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, as we talk openly about the stigmas still attached to our personal and collective struggles with anxiety. We won’t be telling you how to “fix” your issues, or hype the latest self-help craze. Instead, we want to have a real discussion that cuts to the core of our inner, anxiety-ridden dialogues— as creative professionals, and as ordinary people. How do we cope with perfection, compulsion and burnout? In what ways does our work affect our personal lives and vice versa? Indhira will share her personal story that inspired Anxy Magazine, go behind the scenes of recent issues “Workaholism” and “Boundaries,” and dive into the process of editorial curation. Come take part in exploring the personal ups and downs of being a culture maker in this day and age.
