Rhonda Rubinstein

Rhonda Rubinstein is a Canadian-born, Manhattan-trained, San Francisco-based Creative Director. She has forged a career by making important ideas visible in order to transform how people see and act in the world. She is currently the Creative Director of the California Academy of Sciences where she oversees all aspects of the museum’s visual design and brand. To ensure a cohesive experience that makes science accessible and engaging, she directs a design team responsible for the print and digital design of communication materials, exhibit graphics, retail products and wayfinding signage.

Rhonda co-founded the San Francisco design studio EXBROOK to work with clients on ideas and approaches for bettering the world; they include the Ocean Conservancy, the American Institute of Architects and United Nations World Environment Week. Before that, in a time when magazines made public opinion, she art directed such venerable publications as Esquire, Details and Mother Jones. It would be remiss not to mention that her work has won numerous awards and been featured in many books and exhibits. Rhonda writes about design, culture and social issues for various publications. She has taught at the New York University School of Journalism and Parsons School of Design, and earned her Bachelor of Design in Communication Design from NSCAD University in Canada.
