Package Designer, Part-Time with Auston Design Group

If you love adult beverage package design, this is the gig for you. We are seeking highly creative, hard working and dependable individuals for mid to high level freelance or part time design work. There is potential for this to turn into a full time position if our work flow continues on its current trajectory.

You must have extensive experience in conceptual, image oriented, luxury goods packaging and brand development; which, ideally, would include wine//beer/spirits/beverage and cannabis packaging. This is a position with responsibilities that range across all aspects of the design, presentation and production processes. We are a small, team oriented, studio. You are expected to be able to take responsibility for many aspects of the design process, from research, concept development, designing, comping, and preparing mechanical art, as necessary. As part of a communal team environment, during crunch time, you may be asked to assist other team members with their assignments. You will be exposed to high-end packaging and brand design for a variety of adult indulgence products.

Qualifications:

Education—Graphic Design Degree, with focus on branding and package design, from leading design school, or college with a notable design program.

Experience—Minimum of two years of professional package design work. With strong understanding of print, and print processes.

Personal—Positive “can do” attitude and willingness to do “whatever it takes” — a self starter with the ability to interpret needs, objectives, and direction from multiple sources of input — team-oriented with a collaborative approach to design. Wine, beer, cannabis and spirits knowledge is a big plus.

Software—Expert in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Bonus points for Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, Excel, 3D rendering, and coding software.
