Karin Myint

Karin Myint is Principal and Creative Lead at Metalmark Partners, San Francisco. She has developed and executed brand strategies and comprehensive design systems for over 25 years. In 2002, Karin founded her first design studio, Myint Design. She has collaborated with a variety of west coast design studios and brands, including Barbara Barry Inc., Cahan and Associates, Gensler SF (585 Studio) and Pentagram, Vanderbyl Design, Alterpop, and Apple. Her work has been recognized across print, editorial, digital, and environmental design fields, with awards from organizations like Communication Arts, Graphis, HOW, and Print Magazine. Karin is co-chair of Education for the San Francisco chapter of American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). She founded the University of Oregon student chapter in 1989 and worked on the SF Studio 5 Program to increase awareness about design in inner-city classrooms. At the University of Oregon, Karin earned her BFA in Design and Visual Communications with an emphasis on Gothic Architectural History.

Karin teaches Typography at California College of the Arts, and has taught Professional Practice in the Industrial Design Department. She teaches students to experiment, develop an individual approach to projects, and reflect their identity in their work.
