Publikum: Reception and Presentation with AIGA National President Sean Adams
Join us as Publikum Calendar co-founder George Mill and AIGA National President Sean Adams discuss the genesis of this international design phenomenon.
Publikum Calendar, one of the most extraordinary calendars in the world, has emerged fifteen years ago amidst the turmoil and war in Serbia. Launched by printing house Publikum and co-founded by George Mill and Nada Ray, it has grown into an international publication collaboration between Serbian and world designers/artists most notably Paula Scher, Mirko Ilic, Oliviero Toscani, Marina Abramovic, David Byrne, Barbara Kruger, Tadanori Yoko, Slavimir Stojanovic, Karlssonwilker, Andrea Dezso, etc.
2008 Publikum Calendar includes an upfront “Guide for Living” designed by Sean Adams and 12 calendar pages, created by 12 international graphic artists most noted Marian Bantjes, Chip Kidd, Luba Lukova, Jianping He, Garth Walker etc. Editors are Debbie Millman and Nada Ray, Creative Director, George Mill. It is a multi-disciplinary project consisting of a wall calendar, a book, a video documentary, and lecture series and exhibitions.
