Take this rare opportunity to spend four days (three hours each day) with artist and activist Broobs, learning their cut-and-paste methods for making fresh and powerful imagery.

Broobs is a San Francisco collage artist whose colorful and fantastical posters and graphics have taken the visual world by storm, whether it’s Instagram, Netflix, or the street.

This workshop will teach you how to use source material to create different collage styles, including how to incorporate text and make compelling compositions.

Objectives
-Make compelling compositions -Learn various ways for incorporating text in collage
-Learn cut-and-paste techniques
-Gain strategies for narrowing down ideas and components

Required Materials
-Magazines
-Glue
-Cardstock paper (any paper will do) -Pens, markers, pencils

About Broobs (Ruby Marquez)

Broobs (Ruby Marquez) is a collage artist and photographer who melds the past and present, finding inspiration in nature, botanical elements, and classic color palettes to create fresh imagery. Their work exhibits an interest in bringing visibility to queer artists and queer activists and uses their following to educate and illuminate champions of the queer community.
