"What the *#&! Is Social Design"

“WHAT THE *#&! IS SOCIAL DESIGN” is an exhibition that explores the definition of Social Design. The exhibition will showcase leading creatives that are making a difference. It also explores the many facets that define design for social change. Plus, be a true softy and enjoy our soft serve ice cream at the opening reception.
The exhibition is partly user-generated and invites the viewers to participate by drawing and writing in various spots around the show. YOU make the exhibit a collaborative and evolving experience.
Featured designers:
- John Bielenberg (C2, Mavlabs, Project M)
- Michael Osborne (Joey’s Corner)
- Emlly Pilloton (Project H Design)
- Jennifer Leonard (Ideo, co-author of Massive Change)
- Ben Davis (Words Pictures Ideas, Buy-Less)
- Phil Hamlett (Compostmodern)
- Shepard Fairey (you should already know)
- Mark Randall/Andréa Pellegrino (Worldstudio Inc.)
- Alice Bybee/Matt Cooke (Social Impact chairs of AIGA SF, cause/affect)
Many of these designers are planning on coming to the reception, which will be a great chance to meet your Social Design heroes.
This is a SOFTSPOT exhibition. The SOFTSPOT is a collaborative MFA thesis project created by Ashley Ciecka and Michael Jeter. With photography from Jonathan Snyder and short films by Joshua Couto. Come support all of their hard work and meet tons of designers that are interested in how their skills can help make the world a better place.
