AIGA San Francisco Seeks Student Liaisons
The San Francisco chapter of AIGA is looking for two or three volunteer student liaisons to work with the AIGA SF board of directors, local student groups and their respective faculty advisors.
Student liaisons are a consistent advocate for AIGA and reach out to all campuses with student groups as well as participate on the board and volunteer at AIGA SF events.
Students represent the future of the profession and the future of AIGA both locally and nationally. Student groups guided by a faculty advisor work to encourage active involvement in on-campus programming and events. Student liaisons and faculty advisors become active links between chapter boards and student members. Development of effective student groups serves to bridge the gap between student life and professional practice and cultivates the future leadership of AIGA.
If you would like to be a student liaison for AIGA San Francisco, email . Include your name, school name, graduation date, contact information and a short paragraph about why you would want the position.

City College would be like to represent undergraduate students through an AIGA Liaison position. Please watch for individual postings…thanks!
Hello! My name is Michael Mirchandani, I am currently a graphic design student at San Jose State University, set to graduate in 1-2 years time. I’m very interested in becoming a student liason for AIGA SF.
There is currently only one official student group at SJSU for graphic design students, and it is a program exclusive only to BFA students. While I understand the department wishes to maintain standards of quality, it leaves the majority of remaining students without opportunity to explore and learn about design outside of the classroom, which I most certainly am eager to do.
I currently have a peer critque group meeting once a week with fellow students who also share a passion to learn more about design, which I organized by collecting emails from classmates at the end of the last semester. Its been a great way to make new friends and learn more about how to communicate through design.
As an AIGA student liason It would be great to provide more resources and opportunites for learning to our student group, which in turn will attract more groups and students to join together, make lasting friendships and gain valuable learning experiences.
Thanks and best regards,
Michael Mirchandani
