Development Chair
I am honored and excited about being asked to join the AIGA SF Board…again! Last time I was Membership Chair from about mid 1994 to late 1996. Mark Coleman and Mark Fox asked me, and I think I was the first “non-graphic designer” to join the board. I was selling & specifying Hopper Papers for Georgia Pacific and the two Marks figured I was showing up in all of the designers’ offices anyway, may as well have me mention joining the AIGA as well. That was a wonderful experience and I look forward to being of service with such creative professionals again.
I am in sales, so finding prospective clients and listening to them to find out what their pain is (without really saying that) and finding solutions I can offer that keeps them coming back, is sort of normal for me. I am sure being a sponsor of the AIGA SF brings a lot of benefits to it, so we will have lots of sponsors! Right? I look forward to continuing and expanding the development of incoming funds to support all of the great AIGA events to come!
My Bio is about paper sales & specification for Seaboard Paper (now Spicers), Georgia Pacific, S.D. Warren (now Sappi), New Leaf Paper, and for the past 9 years, printing sales. I am a local bay area rep for Hemlock Printers located in BC Canada and I love it. They call me the ‘environmental print specialist’ so clients come to me to find out how to print more economically and environmentally and I find out how and show them, and we print together. I live in Berkeley with my husband, Wes Tabler and have family in San Francisco, Maine and Las Vegas. I enjoy meeting people and finding out what they do and think and feel; reading books – especially about the environment; drinking coffee; and taking walks. One of my dreams is to go back to school for my Green MBA and be a part of the greening of corporate America. I envision the stock market measuring a company’s success using the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit) and get all excited.
