About
Tom Klump
Communications Co-Chair
Tom Klump was born at a very young age to a semi-nomadic architectural clan roaming the mid-western landscape and quickly became an early critic of art and modern building design. Jumping out of the pan and into the fire, as it were, he attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago focusing on visual communications (hence his abismal grasp of the written word).
After working in advertising, educational book publishing, fan club merchandising and the gift and stationary products industry, he realized the best way to enjoy life and fill the creative void was to work for himself. He has run inktank design in the Bay Area since 2001. His one-man-show, works closely with a wide range of clients to develop their identity and all that entails. This includes the collateral, websites, promotional, fundraising, and event materials that help small businesses, start-ups and non-profits gain a foothold in an often cluttered marketplace. He also offers small to medium size businesses and non-profits long-range, strategic planning on how to integrate design, branding and marketing into their mission and business model.
He is active in the Bay Area design community connecting with other like-minds, scary as that may seem. He currently sings the praises of AIGA and all it has to offer via the SF chapter’s communications co-chair position.
