About

Jay Ganaden

Treasurer

A curiosity about Design led Jay to AIGA in 2005, where he found an amazingly fun, charismatic, open, and collaborative culture interested in sharing ideas on running a Design business, and exploring the Design profession’s boundaries and growth.

Jay has served on the AIGA SF Board in a number of roles, spoke briefly as one of the 20/20 at the 2009 AIGA National Conference, and continues as one of the most outward fans of the chapter. As Treasurer, Jay sees to it that AIGA SF has the right resources to meet design community goals, like student scholarships and design business events.

Since 1995, Jay has led an adventurous and diverse life of professional experiences, including traditional management consulting at KPMG, Silicon Valley dotcoms (notably, one called NetGravity DoubleClick Google), and his own ventures in Photography.

Today, Jay combines the skills of business strategy and creative expression, leading the Digital Strategy business for Momentum Design Lab, a user-experience design firm based in San Francisco.
Jay helps clients dream user experience. With that dream fresh in mind, he rallies Momentum’s software engineering team to build the next mobile, social media, tablet, & enterprise software for brands like Intuit, VMWare and WalMart. Taking it a step further, Momentum also builds it’s own products and launches them into their own startup businesses.

Jay and his amazing wife Cindy, have a beautiful daughter Ava Blu, a snugly Boston Terrier Penny, and together live in the sunny hills of Oakland. Jay clears his head with Photography, and loves to race bicycles for Metromint Cycling when he can.
